Nothing will make my daughter run for her room like spinach. She can sense it from a mile away — almost as if she has an anti-spinach super power. Thankfully, she has yet to figure out that her favorite green smoothie is packed with the super nutritious green vegetable. I'm thinking it has a lot to do with the way I serve it. Fresh and sweet, these monster smoothies not only look back at you, they're deliciously healthy!

I don’t know what it is about toadstool mushrooms, but they’re so whimsical and cute – I just love them! The idea to make a cute toadstool mushroom snack popped in my head and I literally couldn’t wait to make it! I made the mushrooms using tomato, but if your kids don’t like tomato you could always use red apple. I used two different sized mini circle cutters to make the circles on the mushrooms, and it really helped save time. If you’re cutting the circles by hand, expect it to take a bit more time. My son's birthday is in October and we always take the opportunity to throw a different Halloween themed birthday party for him every year.  Our family and friends love to get dressed up in costume and participate in our costume contest.  This year, our theme will be Monsters!  As a treat, I've come up with a way to convert one of my favorite Mexican classic candies, the cocadas (street-style coconut candy), into a Monster inspired sweet appetizer for our guests.  This candy is so easy to prepare, that you can involve your kids in the process.
